Overnight manual entries; recording of 24 hours driving and work!
A driver for one of our customers recently got stopped by Dorset Police, not the DVSA, and was given a fine of £200 for not completing a manual entry for overnight!
We included this in on our drivers’ hours CPC course over 3 years ago and made sure ALL drivers attending understood what was expected. This ruling was brought in by the EU (we have to follow), when we were all going through COVID in August 2020 and to be honest we thought it was common knowledge amongst professional drivers. Just a note, even if driving is not your main job, you are still considered to be a professional driver.
Please print off the attached and issue to ALL your drivers and make sure they follow it (it really is very simple), to make sure they do not fall foul of the DVSA or Police and receive a £200 fine Digi examples of block recordings 011224
